K Dot grew up in the concrete jungle and hated it. Surrounded by people, she felt lonely. She smiled at people and was friendly, but friendly was weird. K Dot learned to be wary around people and to make friends with the small critters of the world instead. She befriended them all. Picked up worms from the sidewalk to rescue them after a rain, and generally loved staring at all the living cuteness that the world provided.
Over time, her wish to surround herself with the world’s cuteness drove her to capturing what she saw through art. Art was a way to surround herself with friends all the time. Her first coloured pencil drawings were copies of comic book covers; she especially loved the Pink Panther. Now, K Dot puts her paintings up on the walls of her home and feels surrounded by a warm and friendly world.
She has learned over time that people are like worms too, and sometimes need to be rescued from the drying sidewalk. K Dot has learned to like people (but in small doses). She was christened with the heinous name Karen but prefers K or Dot to being called a Karen — the opposite of who or what she wants to be associated with. K Dot would like you to look at her art and make positive and affirming noises about it. She also knows this bio makes her sound a little unhinged. That’s ok. She finds that kinda amusing.
